The decaffeination process for our Kona Decaf Coffee uses SWISS WATER. The Swiss Water process is a taste-driven, 100% chemical free decaffeination process that delivers coffee that is 99.9% caffeine-free while protecting the unique origin characteristics and flavor. Most other processes use chemical solvents, like Methylene Chloride or Ethyl Acetate to decaffeinate coffee beans. This process maintains a clean original taste for our Kona Decaf Coffee.

Kona Decaf Coffee:

A rich luscious full bodied taste from the slopes of Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii with its rich soil, sunny mornings and abundant rainfall. This is 100% pure Kona decaf gourmet coffee beans.

Our decaf gourmet coffee have been decaffeinated by the Swiss water method which preserves the rich volcanic flavor of the Kona coffee beans. The Swiss Water Process is a 100% chemical free coffee decaffeination process that results in great-tasting decaf. Most other processes use chemical solvents, like methylene chloride, to decaffeinate coffee beans. Conversely, the SWISS WATER® Process uses only water when removing caffeine, producing water processed decaf coffee.

 

Grown on small Kona Hawaii coffee farms with only the finest gourmet coffee beans selected. We pay our farming partners a fair trade coffee price that exceeds their cost of production. The extra care taken with this rare coffee bean that is hand-picked and the pride of less than 600 working Farms.

Like fine vintage wines, Kona decaf coffee is distinguished from commercial blends by the tremendous care taken throughout every step of the process. The Kona coffee region has

an ideal climate, grown on the mountain slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa volcanoes with tropical sun-drenched mornings and misty afternoons. The special processing using the wet-method of processing and sun-drying, insure a certified gourmet coffee product. Then we use the Swiss decaffeination process mentioned above to remove the caffeine from the bean.

Kona Decaf gourmet coffee is the very special coffee grown on the dark volcanic lava rock slopes of Kona, with enviable consistent quality. Volcanica Decaf Gourmet Coffee is a deliciously rich, medium-bodied and slightly acidic coffee with a heady aroma and a complex, winy, spicy taste.

Kona, on the west coast of Hawaii island (also known as The Big Island), has produced coffee continuously since the early 1800's. The Kona name only applies to beans grown in North and South Kona, and coffee that is grown elsewhere in Hawaii cannot be called Kona coffee.

Kona Decaf Coffee is grown in the perfect climate. Coffee requires a very specific combination of sun, soil, and water and is only successfully grown in only a limited number of locations round the world. The magical diurnal cycle of bright sunny mornings, humid rainy afternoons, and mild nights create perfect growing conditions for exotic plants to flourish.
